Let me bore you...

I got in to radio ** years ago and wasn't lured in by the thought of all that electronic equipment, lights, buttons and FREE ALBUMS!! I grew up listening to radio in Chicago.  Not just WLS and WCFL but I remember listening to some of the INCREDIBLE album rock stations on FM years ago.  ALL that great music that you wouldn't hear on WLS and WCFL. I never imagined I would get in to this business.

The thing I've really liked about it all these years is the people I've met.  There are some wonderful people I've met thru the years many which have become great friends.  I've met a lot of wonderful business contacts thru all this as well!  From the record industry, other broadcasters all over the country and the many wonderful clients of the radio stations.

I love it when people say "I used to listen to you when I went to High School." Ya, ok...so I'm an old fart but I do like it because it tells me that I was a tiny part of their lives.

I've always taken great pride on what I've accomplished in this industry but my biggest accomplishment in life has been raising my two wonderful daughters completely on my own. That outshines anything I've done in radio.I'm also blessed with an incredible family and nothing can top that. I had such a wonderful 18 years in Wausau with many successes and wonderful people to work with. I also was blessed with many great friends.  I've got a few in the Northwoods now so I guess I must be doing something right.

If you've gotten this far...WOW! Congratulations...there will be a test later. Again, thanks so much for all the good times in this business. I've met so many great people (and a few horses asses) and I always look forward to meeting the great folks that listen in. It always amazes me that some people put you up on this pedestal just because of something you do on the radio. It's flattering but a bit embarrassing to me at times because I've never enjoyed being in the limelight. TRUST ME... I have a face for radio! Truth is it's just a job like anybody else. We just happen to do our job in front of everybody listening.

Thanks for everything,

Duff
